ANN JOHNSTON

Ann learned to sew; then she learned to dye fabric. In the 70s, she started making quilts. The development of her work can be seen in her book The Quilter’s Book of Design. She is also widely known for her dye books and her recent 4.5 hour instructional DVD, Color By Accident: Exploring LWI.  She is currently working on The Contact, a series comprised so far of 32 quilts, which uses a broad array of literal, abstract, and purely imaginative imagery each with expressive layers of stitching.
