The Schweinfurth will be hosting a local Fiber Market from 1 to 5 pm Sunday, Nov. 18. The market will feature local yarn producers in Central New York and a range of handmade items from spinners, weavers, knitters, including hand dyed yarn, and products for makers. Local producers will have finished product to sell, along with educational and marketing materials to share with visitors. There will be a lecture by indie dyer, Carrie Drake at 3pm.
Some items include: Wool from alpacas, and Wensleydale, Icelandic, Shetland, and Heritage Sheep.
Vendors will also have scarves, shawls, mittens, socks, gloves, rugs, hats, coats, merino wool, bergschaf, ramie, silk fibers, thrum, prefelts, felting tools, silkhankies, spinning, wet and needle felting, felted birds and sheep, felted sheep milk soaps, weaving, textile art, indie dyed yarn, knitted, woven, and sewn goods, raw and processed fibers including fleece, rovings, batts, dyed locks and yarns.
Knitting and spinning help will also be available for those who are stuck on a project for $5.
The event will be held during the Schweinfurth’s annual Quilts=Art=Quilts exhibit, and annual juried show featured art quilts from across the U.S. and world.
