| 5 days - All Levels Do you still love block quilts but want to approach them in a more creative way? Learn to design block quilts from a new perspective. For a more effective format, we will alter works of whole images into several sections. Focus will be on constructing images that not only stand alone but also flow visually into each other. Emphasis on blocks of varying sizes and shapes provide each student with a unique approach to the subject matter of their choice. Taught by: Gabrielle Swain |
- 10 to 12 pages of magazine advertisements that intrigue you
- Graph paper, any size, pencil and eraser
- .01 and .03 Black Pigma pens
- Sewing machine, clean and in good working order
- Medium size cutting matt or size of your choice
- Rotary cutter and ruler, at least 6" x 24"
- 1 yd. of felt, fleece or some type of batting for a design wall
Fabric
- A quilt top or set of blocks that you have completed that you
- Are willing to sacrifice (cut into pieces) to a new design
And/Or
- Fabrics of your choice that compliment this quilt top, or
- 10 yards of a variety fabrics. I know this is a tough choice but use your judgment
