Fiber artist Katie Pasquini Masopust has traveled the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Belgium, Switzerland, and England teaching contemporary quilt designing.
She is the author of Mandala: For Contemporary Quilt Designs and Other Mediums, and
The Contemporary Sampler, both reprinted by Dover; 3 Dimensional Design, and Isometric Perspective, reprinted by Katie; Fractured Landscapes and Ghost Layers and Color Washes by C&T Publishing; Color and Composition for the Creative Quilter, co-authored with Brett Barker will be available in September 2005.
Katie has won many awards throughout her career; recently, Passages, Chaco Canyon won
the Penny Nii award at the 1998 Visions show and her quilt, Rio Hondo was chosen as one of the 100 Best Quilts of the Twentieth Century. She is the current president of the Studio Art Quilt Association, an international organization that promotes quilts as art. She is the Silver Star recipient for 2005. Her website is www.katiepm.com.
