Nancy Bales has worked at worked for Patchwork Plus for 15 years where she taught adults to use their new sewing machines, embroidery units and embroidery software. Additional classes included machine quilting, free motion thread work, wearable art and pieced garments. She led many children’s summer classes that involved learning how to use the sewing machine by creating projects that ranged from beginner to advanced. Nancy has taught at the Schweinfurth Art Center’s Quilting by the Lake conference such classes as: wearable art, surface design using thread work, machine quilting and quilting with decorative threads.
She has had work published in the American Quilter Magazine, Shore Line Quilts and the Central New York Magazine. Her quilts and garments have been in many area, state and national shows and local fashion shows. Nancy received Best in Show at QBL, NY State Fair and the local quilt guild shows. In addition she has had one person shows at Old Forge Art Center, the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center and the Earlville Opera House gallery. Nancy is currently working as a studio artist mainly working on wall quilts, dying cloth, felting and various surface design techniques. Her other hobbies include reading, knitting, jewelry work with beads, silver and lapidary.
Evan Bujold is a comic book creator and illustrator from the Adirondack Mountains of Northern NY. He earned a Bachelor's of Science in Digital Arts & Sciences from Clarkson University in 2011 and his Masters of Fine Arts in Illustration from Syracuse University's VPA Program in 2014 upon the production of his thesis comic book Late Earth. His past work includes traditionally illustrated comic books and strips, novel covers, album art, apparel, show posters, logo designs, video game art assets and more.
Evan has taught illustration to the general public and youth groups, as well as special needs individuals through the Goff-Nelson Library in Tupper Lake, NY, and has also offered tutorials online on digital illustration and graphic design. His illustration style is expressive and action-based, and he sites super-heroes, landscapes, giant robots and quantum theory concepts as his favorite subjects to draw. When he's not illustrating, he writes, sings and plays guitar for the band Late Earth.

Nancy Callahan is known nationally as a leader in the field of artist’s books. She has exhibited her work extensively in regional, nationally and international exhibitions. Based on her research and development of unique book and paper structures she has lectured and taught workshops to artists, teachers, and graphic designers from across the nation at such places as the Center of Book Arts in New York City, Syracuse University, Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute in Utica, the University of Virginia, the Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale, N.Y. and the Lee Art Center in Arlington, Virginia. Her unique books are housed in numerous special collection libraries including those at Vassar College, Yale University, RIT, and the Library of Congress.
Liz Carnes is a native New Englander who has been basket weaving for over 30 years. She studied the Shaker and Nantucket traditions as well as contemporary basketry techniques. She owned and operated a dental laboratory for 35 years. Now retired, she shares her love of basketry teaching at the Northeast Basketmakers Guild events, her local Senior Center, and other locations.

Kalee Doeing has a Bachelors in Fine Arts with a concentration in Ceramics from Wells College in Aurora, NY. Ever since she can remember she has had her hands in something creative such as community mural projects, local art contests, plein air painting, volunteering in local parades. She enjoys all opportunities to be creative! Kalee works part-time at Poplar Point Studio, a landscape company in Genoa, NY, and is a studio assistant in the Clay Studio at the Schweinfurth Art Center. Kalee lives in Genoa with her husband and two young children.
Hetty Easter graduated from Syracuse University in 1994 with a B.S. in Fashion Design from the College of Human Development and a B.F.A. from the College of Visual and Performing Arts. She launched her professional career with Echo Design Group of New York City, where she worked in both the studio and home furnishing/licensing departments. She studied figurative fine art at the Art Students League in NYC and Studio Incamminati in Pennsylvania. After returning to her hometown in upstate New York, Hetty founded a sketch club to teach children to use nature to synthesize, edit information and express ideas about their surroundings. She has also created and consulted on numerous web-based projects encompassing art and marketing. Hetty maintains a fine art studio where she creates a varied portfolio that includes portraits, studies of her travels and inspiration close to home. She works alla prima and plein air in watercolor, oil and charcoal, using the medium that best suits her objectives. Her work is in private collections worldwide.

Randy Elliott has been creating artwork professionally since 1988. Initially, a comic book inker, over the years Randy has branched out into illustration and comic book penciling as well. He has worked for DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Archie Comics, Wizards of The Coast, Battlefront Miniatures, AEG and other comic and game publishers. Some of his better-known comic projects have been Bionicle for DC/LEGO and Turok for Valiant, and he was the creator of the MTG cards, “The Cheese Stands Alone” and “Paladin en-Vec.” Randy is also an art educator and has been teaching college level course work since 2002.

Molly Fontana is a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in Elementary Education. She is a native of Upstate New York, but moved to Texas where she spent six years teaching art to children grades K-5. Molly’s love of the Finger Lakes region brought her back to Upstate, NY and she now resides in Skaneateles. Molly specializes in teaching the fundamentals of drawing, painting and possesses a talent for creative arts and crafts, using objects from nature as her canvas. Her unbridled enthusiasm and positive attitude resonates through her teaching, making the classroom experience exciting and enjoyable for all.
Joy is a local artist and teacher. She graduated from Syracuse University with a BA in Fine Arts and a dual Masters in Social Work and School Counseling. For eight years, Joy has taught art, music and an afternoon enrichment program at the Skaneateles Nursery School. She has additional experience teaching children of a wide range of ages over the past 17 years.
Linda Bishop McCarthy is a New York State Certified Art Teacher with 38 years of experience teaching to students of all levels, from Kindergarten through High School. She has her BS in Art Education and a Masters Degree in Education from Nazareth College of Rochester. After teaching at various schools in Auburn for five years, she moved to the Skaneateles District where she continued her career. Recently retired, Linda has been teaching privately and continues to share the creative process with students of all ages.

Donalee Peden Wesley received her BFA and MFA from Syracuse University on a full Jacob Javitts Fellowship. She has taught for over 15 years at numerous universities and colleges, among them SUNY Oswego, University of Wisconson Madison, Cazenovia College and Hamilton College. She teaches currently at Syracuse University and Onondaga Community College. Her work is included in many public colections including: The Everson Museum; Munson William Proctor; SUNY at Brockport Liveral Arts Building and the Drawing Institute, to name a few, as well as extensive private collections.

John Smolenski graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with an MFA from the School for American Craftsmen. His work has been in numerous exhibitions including; Xerox Craft Invitational, Six Functional Potters, NYS Craftsmen Craft Fair, as well as Southern Tier Crafts National, to name a few.
John was associate professor of ceramics at both Keuka College and Oswego State University. John taught high school art at Skaneateles Central Schools for 29 years, where he developed the ceramics program. Many students were able to go on and receive prestigious awards, such as Gold and Silver Keys, at the Scholastic Art awards, under John's direction. In 2014, he was honored by the National Scholastic Art Association as Teacher of the Year.
Since 2001, Warner Varno has taught drawing, painting and mixed media classes to all ages of students from ECE-adults. She developed her own program, Time for Art, in 2006 and since then has been offering both fine art after school enrichment programs and summer art camps at the Denver Botanic Gardens and the Denver Art Museum. She has maintained her own studio in South Central Denver since 2002 and teaches Portfolio Preparation for students applying to art school. A native of Central New York, Warner has now relocated back to the area.
