Collage is a Road Map to create, test Design Ideas in small Paper/Cloth projects; explore
colors, values shapes and visual textures by tearing, altering, gluing and/or fusing for an
alternative to our usual work in fabric, with no expected end results! Small exploratory
studies will serve for working into fabric quilts."Collage helps work with gutsy colors
when I get too predictable and to simplify busy areas," says Carol Barnes,AWS
watercolor friend. Nenri maisse said his "cutting process is like drawing with scissors."
We will find composition ideas with "cut out" windows and magazines pages, doing value
studies, in paper collages… plus creating added values with fused net overlays, tissue
papers, colored pencils and/or oil pastels. We will experiment and focus on Design
Elements are great tools and clues to unique & fun personal art work. Collage is trial
and error composing, with no expectants; working for fun and exploration.
