Eugenia Barnes ~ Marcellus, NY
Genie Barnes has been a quiltmaker since the early 1960s and founded the first quilt guild in central New York. As a professional quiltmaker, teacher and lecturer, she was one of the first five to be certified by AQS as an appraiser of quilts and quilted textiles. Her quilts reflect and honor the tradition of quiltmaking, and she is well-known for her handwork, problem-solving skills and her sense of humor.
Judy Doenias ~ Forest Hills, NY
Judy has been involved in crafts of many kinds since childhood. The seductive nature of fabrics stimulated her to give away almost all her craft supplies, to quit her job, and to become a full time quilt-maker and quilting teacher. Judy teaches and lectures in quilt shops and adult education programs, and has taught women in homeless shelters, school children in and around New York City, and at the Museum of American Folk Art. She has also written several chapters in Rodale’s Successful Quilting Library.
Diane Rode Schneck ~ NY, NY
Diane Rode Schneck has been a fabric collector since the age of eight and a quiltmaker for almost three decades. She teaches at quilt shops, guilds and conferences nationwide and designs and writes for many quilting books and magazines. Her work runs the gamut from time-honored classic scrap quilt designs to one-of-a-kind humorous works of art. She continues to be fascinated by a wide range of techniques and topics, and firmly
believes it’s all good.
